Fighting The War On Malaria Worldwide
SBF defined 2 fundraising programs in the spring of 2010, Pennies4 Nets
and Musicians For Nets that resulted in raising over $2200 the purchase
of nets.
Remarkably,
over 100 donors as well as continued assistance from Alpine Animal
Hospital, MasterLinks, Happy Hound Wine & Liquors, Moritz Title Co.,
Colorado Association of Mortgage Brokers among others, contributed to
the effort. |

NETS DISTRIBUTED IN 2010
While preparations continue for
2011 projects; Nets For The Amazon and Pacific Partnership 2011, SBF
contributed approximately $2000 to assist Against Malaria Foundation and
Concern Universal in their ongoing blanket coverage of the Kalinde and
Nambozo District of Southeast Malawi. 20,000 nets were shipped
Nov-Dec, 2010 for immediate distribution in an area with a population of
approx. 63,000 and reported cases of malaria January and September, 2010
of a staggering 20,557.
20,000 nets were delivered in a one month period
to achieve blanket coverage of all sleeping spaces in 114 villages in
the Kalinde and Nambazo health district areas of Phalombe in the far
south-west of Malawi. This is expected to make a huge difference to the
malaria problem in this area.
