Four American Citizens

Our opportunity is to give Americans of all ages a rallying point around their living historic connection to the modern war against Malaria.

Our goal is to enlist millions of ordinary Americans, children and adults, in a grass-roots movement that has the same lasting impact through the coming years as the March of Dimes did in leading Americans in the fight to eradicate polio.

The SBF is comprised of four ordinary people struggling to make ends meet. We have known and liked each other virtually all their lives. We have nurtured the dream of making a difference in the lives of people we don’t know for the past seven years.

Malaria is mankind’s number one health threat infecting between 300 and 500 million people each year resulting in more than three million deaths annually. Malaria is the number one killer of children under the age of 10 worldwide exceeding all other known diseases.

The last few years has seen a rise in efforts in the United States and other developed countries to unite private and governmental resources in raising hundreds of millions of dollars while attempting to elevate media and, thereby, public awareness to the seriousness of the disease.

However, inefficient global operations and infrastructures along with poor oversight have encouraged waste and thievery, which is to be expected from a top-down approach versus our grassroots bottoms-up implementation.

Our objective and passion is to maximize the return on every dollar donated, bring the message and fundraising to a much larger and broader audience, and sustain our efforts over time while the other less efficient efforts cease operations.
